Administration Block Up Grade
Term Four will see work begin on the upgrade of the current Administration Block in the front of the school. This is a much needed upgrade to ensure we provide adequate working space for the increasing number of teachers and support staff now employed by Ellerslie School.
As our school role has grown, so to has our staff base, making it crucial this upgrade is done as soon as practicable.
Therefore, thanks to pegged funding from the Ministry of Education, we now have approval to proceed with this building work.
The end result will be a greatly improved entrance to the school, better facilities for staff outside of the classroom, and a more welcoming reception area.
The schematic drawings to the right indicate how the proposed new building will look.
How will this affect you and your children?
What this means is that the current drop off zone will be closed, because it will be needed for car-parking for teachers only.
Due to construction, the smaller car-park in front of the school office will be closed, and all staff who park there will relocate to the larger car park. The larger car park will be for staff only.
If you drive your children to school and use the drop off zone, either in the mornings or afternoons, you will have to consider different options.
The school has been consulting with the Auckland City Council to ensure there is a safe environment for our children during this period. However, as parents and guardians, we need your to help make this work.
The Board of Trustees is encouraging all parents and guardians to consider the options overleaf, and create a Family Plan that suits your needs.
Make sure you are prepared for the changes from Day One of Term Four.
