What's On in Room 15

 What’s On in Room 15
We have been busy with our inquiry learning about simple machines. We are investigating how simple machines make our life easier. Our big moment of understanding  the importance of simple machines was when we were looking at levers and lifting a weight much bigger than ourselves. We discovered it an easy thing to do if you know where to place the fulcrum. We also looked at screw, incline planes, gears, wedges, pulleys and wheels and axles. We decided to show our understanding of all the simple machines with a small challenge. We decided we could all easily make a car from recycled products and include a minimum of 3 simple machines.Next, we raced our cars, busses and pick-up trucks down an incline plane. The resounding conclusion was that if you got the wheels and the axle sorted out them everything else was easy in comparison. The winner of our race event was Annalise. Well done!
