The board advises that a number of vacancies have become available at Ellerslie School. Since the last ballot for out-of-zone places on 17 March, 2023 the board has received a number of enquiries from parents of out-of-zone students seeking to enrol their children at the school this year.
Because the board operates an enrolment scheme, it is required to fill any vacant out-of-zone places by ballot in cases where there are more applications for enrolment than there are places available. The board has determined that places are likely to be available to out-of-zone students in Years 0, 1, 2 and 3 for enrolment in 2024. Start dates for years 1, 2 and 3 are during Term 1, 2024.
The board is prepared to receive applications, in addition to those it already holds, so long as they reach the school by Wednesday 11 October, 2023 . If a ballot is required it will be held on Wednesday 18 October, 2023. Parents/caregivers will be informed of the outcome of the ballot within three school days of the ballot being held.
Applications from out of zone students will be processed in the following order of priority:
First priority must be given to any applicant who is accepted for enrolment in a special programme run by the school:
Second priority must be given to any applicant who is the sibling of a current student of the school:
Third priority must be given to any student who is the sibling of a former student of the school:
Fourth priority must be given to any applicant who is a child of a former student of the school:
Fifth priority must be given to any applicant who is either a child of an employee of the board of the school or a child of a member of the board of the school:
Sixth priority must be given to all other applicants
